On 3 September 2006 I am running 5k in the annual Hydro Active Women’s Challenge in Hyde Park.

I intend to raise money for a Scottish charity called Friends of the Special Nursery. This is a charity which raises money for premature babies in the Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital where I spent the first 10 weeks of my life.

All monies donated are used to benefit the premature babies and their families ensuring that their stay in the neonatal unit is as comfortable as possible. Some example of what the charity purchases for the unit are as follows:

· Soft sheets / clothing for the tiny babies

· Provision of clothes bank

· Digital camera - monthly bill for photocopy paper / ink for printer

· Cold Water drinks facility

· Upgrading / redecoration of three parents bedrooms and reception area

· Funding for a new scanning machine

· monitoring equipment / computer software
